Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub is a community service of Hobart City Church of Christ and a charity partner of Thread Together.

Thread Together is….

An ethical and social response to excess

One-third of new clothing goes from factory to landfill, whilst one in eight adults do not have adequate access to essential clothing. Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub addresses this uncomfortable truth by saving new clothing from going to landfill and providing these clothes to people in need. We believe circumstances and disadvantage should not prevent people from accessing clothing to allow them to realise their full potential.

Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub was started by Hobart City Church of Christ to help meet the needs of our community. It was formally launched in 2022.

Through our partner service providers we support vulnerable individuals with a select number of new, free clothing items to allow them to realise their full potential.

We order our clothing stock from Thread Together.

Thread Together was started in 2012, and is an ethical and social response to excess clothing.

Thread Together now works with over a thousand fashion brands who donate unsold clothing which may have been headed to landfill or otherwise destroyed. This clothing is redirected to people in need.

Make a donation today

Having enough clothes to wear is a basic need, but right now, many Tasmanians are going without. They’re missing out on warm clothes for winter, comfy shoes, summer outfits, or even clean underwear. We are working to change this. 100% of donations support Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub to provide clothing to vulnerable people in our community.
