HUB
Our clothing hub in Hobart’s CBD is a warm and inviting safe space for guests to select a limited number of clothing items during their personal appointment. Visiting the hub is a retail-like experience (without the cash register!), and change rooms are provided. Appointments are made through service providers.
VAN
The Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub van is a mobile wardrobe used to provide clothing to more regional locations. Site visits with the van are negotiated by service providers with the Thread Together Hobart team.
SITE WARDROBES
We stock wardrobes (donated by Ikea) that have been installed within shelters and other settings where residential clients may need more immediate access to clothing.
PARTNERSHIPS
Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub works alongside other service providers to support specific clothing related projects (e.g. supplying interview clothing for participants in workforce development projects)
EXPANSION PROJECT
Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub has been very generously supported by the Tasmanian Community Fund. The focus of this five-year grant is to expand our service across southern Tasmania, with a particular focus on providing clothing to support people to access education, training and employment opportunities
“I just can’t believe this. It’s absolutely incredible – I’ve never had support like this before and I’m blown away!”
Make a donation today
Having enough clothes to wear is a basic need, but right now, many Tasmanians are going without. They’re missing out on warm clothes for winter, comfy shoes, summer outfits, or even clean underwear. We are working to change this. 100% of donations support Thread Together Hobart Clothing Hub to provide clothing to vulnerable people in our community.
